Veteran Services

The City of Moorpark recognizes the sacrifice countless American men and women have made in service to our Country. We also recognize the challenge our veterans face in finding affordable housing options and services in our community. The County of Ventura Human Services Agency operates the Veteran Services Office to assist these brave men and women, as well as their families, gain access to financial assistance and medical treatment. The Veteran Services Office assist veterans with:

  • Claims to the VA for service-connected compensation
  • Pension for wartime veterans with non-service-connected disabilities
  • California Tuition Fee Waiver Program
  • Memorial benefits
  • VA life insurance
  • Medical referrals and information

Resources for People Experiencing Homelessness

The County of Ventura Human Services Agency also operates the Homeless Services Program, which serves individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Homelessness is defined as: sleeping in a place not meant for human habitation; sleeping in an emergency shelter; fleeing domestic violence, while at risk of homelessness is defined as imminently losing housing within the next 21 days.

Pathways to Home is Ventura County's 24-hour assistance Coordinated Entry System. Please call the Ventura County 2-1-1 resource and referral line by dialing 2-1-1 or 800-339-9597, email 211@icfs.org. Call 805-385-1800 during office hours 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (calls will be returned).
