Overview

The Teen Council advises city officials and staff on the needs of the teen population.

The Moorpark Teen Council consists of a minimum of seven teens who are appointed for a one-year term. Members of the Teen Council must be Moorpark residents who are currently in middle or high school.

The goal of the Teen Council is to encourage young residents to actively participate City government in a positive and productive manner and to develop civic knowledge, leadership skills, and a spirit of community involvement.  The Teen Council provides members with educational and experiential opportunities related to City operations, public service, career development, and community engagement.  Members may also provide a youth perspective on major City projects, programs, and initiatives that may affect Moorpark youth, along with performing other duties or functions assigned by the City Manager.
