Your child will increase their fluency and comprehension by reading aloud to a Reading Buddy (volunteer) for 20-30 minutes each week. Interactions support pronunciation assistance, vocabulary development, inspire confidence, and comprehension skills. After reading, stay for a word game or two with your new buddies!
If you think building with LEGOS is cool, wait until you turn them into robots! During this peer-led program, we will explore basic programming concepts with LEGOS and MINDSTORMS software.??
Do you like comics, manga, and graphic novels? Grades 6-12 are invited to join our comic book club to make friends, discuss your favorites, and discover something new! A movie club for individuals interested in answering the question, “Was the book really better than the movie?” After viewing the film on your own time, join us at the Library for the discussion and trivia.
To celebrate “Make a Friend Day,” we will host a stuffed animal sleepover. Please bring your favorite stuffie so they can make some new friends in the library overnight! When you arrive, you will make a name tag, read a goodnight story to your stuffed animal, and tuck them in for the night. Please pick up your little friends the following day (Saturday, 2/11) at 10 AM and watch a slideshow of all the good times they had!
Join us for fun, hands-on science experiments for grades 1-5 with Riya Agrawal, an MHS honor student. Saturday morning classes are 45 minutes, twice a month. Please sign up in advance by talking to staff. Drop-ins are welcome!
A cookbook club for adults who enjoy cooking and sharing food. Each club meeting features a different theme, and members prepare a tasty treat to share. November’s theme is Pies.
