The City of Moorpark is announcing the launch of the “Tell Me Moor” Join the Conversation program, a continuation of community outreach aimed at obtaining resident input on quality of life issues, in the context of Moorpark’s ongoing budget challenges.
The program, which includes interactive online, mail, and television information, is a continuation of the work of Moorpark’s inaugural Strategic Planning effort begun earlier this year, which included an initial community survey to gauge resident perspectives on community priorities.
“We are excited to broaden our outreach,” said City Manager Troy Brown. “When we started this effort earlier this year, many community members asked if there was a way to get more involved and provide input after our initial survey process was complete. With the Tell Me Moor - Join the Conversation effort, residents citywide can weigh in on community priorities, and the City can continue to transparently communicate information about the City’s budget and financial needs, and how they impact the services our residents value.”
In addition to information and feedback online, the City is launching a community conversation program, providing in-person answers to budget and service priority questions at civic organizations citywide.
“It was important to the City that government come to the people, and that we engage residents where they are every day - in their community organizations, online, and in their homes via mail,” continued Brown. “We are heartened with the responses we have received to date, and we cannot wait for our community to Tell Me Moor.”
