Kambiz Borhani Named Moorpark's New Finance Director

The City of Moorpark is pleased to announce Kambiz Borhani as the City’s next Finance Director.  Mr. Borhani’s first day with the City will be August 19.

Mr. Borhani brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, with over 27 years of governmental and public accounting experience, most recently as Assistant Chief Financial Officer for the City of Culver City.  He previously served as Deputy Director of Finance and Information Technology for the City of Pico Rivera, and a Partner at an accounting firm specializing in governmental, labor organization, and compliance audits.

Mr. Borhani holds an accounting degree from California State University, Northridge, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).  He is also designated as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) bestowed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

City Manager Troy Brown welcomed Mr. Borhani to Moorpark, saying: “I am very excited to have Mr. Borhani as part of the Moorpark team.  We wanted a Finance Director with strong financial and investment skills, but also with demonstrated experience improving procedures to achieve greater efficiencies.  Mr. Borhani brings both.”

Mr. Borhani will oversee the Finance Department and its seven staff members responsible for the City’s budget, accounting, auditing, investment, and purchasing functions.  He will also serve as the City Treasurer.
