AB 939 Division
In accordance and compliance with the Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989, the city must divert a minimum of 50% of solid waste generated in Moorpark from landfill disposal, by promoting source reduction, recycling, composting, and the proper disposal of household hazardous waste. The Solid Waste Program is funded by the fees collected from users, Used Oil Payment Programs, and Beverage Container Grants.

The city's solid waste program also encompasses regional solid waste and household hazardous waste management programs. The City of Moorpark, in cooperation with the cities of Simi Valley and Camarillo, provides area residents with an ongoing opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste and monthly drop off events.
